After spending a glorious day on the beaches of Sete yesterday we were ready to get back on the road and head for Montpellier this morning.
It rained cats, dogs, kittens, and puppies all night long but this morning although the skies looked foreboding, for the time being they were dry. We left Sete at 11:00 and an hour later we had cycled 9 miles and were almost back were we had started from. Getting lost seemed to be the key issue today.
But we did finally make it to a canal that looked on the map like it would take us to Montpellier. Which eventually it did. However since it had rained all night long things were a little soggy and at times it was quite the adventure just trying to keep the bikes going straight. At one point Bob's bike sunk into the mud about 6 inches. What a mess. But we did make it to Montpellier where we met up with Sherry's friend Dalia and her daughter.
We have spent a wonderful afternoon visiting with Dalia and her daughter, Adalia. They fixed us a traditional French dinner which we lingered over and had good conversation. Tomorrow they are going to show us their city via the bikes!
Hopefully at some point we will find a store to purchase a new camera. The sights have been beautiful and we would love to share them with you.
Good Night
