Okay, we made it through the check in process with only one surprise. Last time we took our bikes to Europe it cost $150.00 to put them on the plane. This time $300.00!!! Thank goodness Sherry has her new bike that breaks down small enough to check as regular baggage so we only had to pay for one bike. Yikes!!!
Thank you to Karen & Gary (Bob's sister & her husband) for giving us a ride to the airport. Our plane leaves at 3:45pm and we will arrive in Paris at 7:45am local time. We are hoping that everything will go well and we'll be pedaling our way to a campground by around noon.
We are at the airport lounge right now. We are flying business class over (thanks to the frequent flyer miles) and enjoying the benefits! We are going to live large before spending 3 months in a tent!!

hi bob,
what a great surprise to hear from you again! i wish i could ride along! when lyn and i were in spain, we rode along the camino de santiago and had an absolutely lovely time; it was super cheap, too, as most hostels along the way were free.
2 years ago we toured in nova scotia which we enjoyed a lot.
last summer i did my longest brevet ever: londonedinburghlondon (1400 km) in 110 hours. Just finished another super randonneur series, and a week from Friday i will do a 1000 km brevet around lake ontario. the time limit is 75 hours.
enjoy france with its great food and wines!
